Duncan Sheik (born November 18, 1969) is a singer-songwriter and composer from the United States. Initially gaining success as a vocalist, most notably with his 1996 breakthrough song “Barely Breathing,” he subsequently went on to compose music for feature films and the Broadway stage, including the critically acclaimed musical Spring Awakening, which was a critical and commercial triumph.
